Resin Bound is a paving solution made from a hardened mixture of small aggregate stones and resin to create a smooth, non-slip surface. It is a stylish, durable, and practical surfacing solution that is rapidly growing in popularity.

1.

Stone Resin is a permeable surface and when paired with our VubaMac base it is the most flood resistant paving solution on offer. This driveway is the perfect solution for removing excess surface water that other materials such as concrete permit, often resulting in cracks. Stone Resin allows water to soak through its porous surface, ensuing a SuDs compliant driveway that is sustainable.

2.

The durability of stone resin makes it both weather-resistant and long-lasting. Its porous surface helps to deter any weeds and due to the Vuba Resin bound being UV resistant, the colour will not fade. As a result, your driveway will appear pristine and as new for many, many years.

3.

Its stylish and modern appeal is what makes Resin Bound driveways stand out from the crowd. The extensive range of colour blends and unique designs guarantee that the driveway will be the perfect fit for the property. Enhancing the appearance of your driveway not only transforms its aesthetic appeal, but also adds value to your property.

With over 50 colour blends to choose from, we can guarantee we have the perfect resin bound for you.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What is Stone Resin Bound?

Stone Resin bound is small aggregate stones mixed with a two-part polyurethane resin which is then applied to a suitable base. The VUBA resin we use at Newlook Surfacing is UV stable, so you will not face any issues with fading. It is incredibly strong and fast curing allowing for a much more durable driveway. It has also been accredited the BBA award which is a comprehensive independent test for durability, strength and stability, permeability and is an ongoing quality assurance.

What are the suitable bases?

With Stone Resin Bound you have two options: an Overlay and A Dig Out. Should you be fortunate enough to currently have decent quality tarmac or concrete in the area you are looking to resin, then with a few menial tasks, we can overlay it.
However, due to the stone resin bound’s permeability a better base for it is something similarly porous. This allows for better drainage, no water damage, and no moss growth. Here at Newlook Surfacing we offer two options: Porous Concrete or VubaMac Base.

What is VubaMac base?

VubaMac Base is a mixture of recycled railway binder and resin, with layers of SRM stabilising grids to give incredible strength. VubaMac and the final layer of stone resin can be laid on the same day, decreasing the time we take on a job. Stronger than normal tarmac and quick to use, this is an excellent product for driveways and patios to maximise flood resistance.

Do we offer warranties?

Newlook Surfacing are classed as Elite Installers with VUBA Resin Products. This classification is given to installers of the highest quality and credibility. With that level of trust and our use of only quality materials and practices, for all dig-outs, we offer 10-year warranties! Your driveway is therefore guaranteed to be both appealing and long-lasting.

Do I need planning permission for my driveaway?

If a new or replacement driveway of any size uses permeable (or porous) surfacing which allows water to drain through or if the rainwater is directed to a lawn or border to drain naturally, planning permission will not be required. Having rainwater instantly filter through the driveway is advantageous for the environment and reduces the likelihood of flooding.

Can you do designs in the Stone Resin?

As the Stone Resin is flexible when being laid, we can incorporate logos, shapes, numbers, and designs into your unique driveway. Around the edges, we can provide contrasting resin colours or concrete bricks of varying choices, allowing us to create your dream driveway. Additionally, we offer a virtual design of your proposed driveway so that you can see beforehand what it will look like.
