Driveway And Wrap Around Patio Transformation- Winterbourne

OVERVIEW:

Our customer wanted a sleek and modern resin driveway that is aesthetically pleasing as well as durable and permeable. We also worked on a wraparound patio, using the same resin as the driveway to create a cohesive and polished look. The end result created a high-end result with low maintenance upkeep. The Job:

Working with the client we created a plan to help their ideas come to life. We ensured we met their three ‘must haves’:

Solution:

NewLook Surfacing designed a triple diamond shape that aligns perfectly with the front door to create a stunning, unique contemporary driveway. Using contrasting colours to create a bold and modern design, we also used block paving together with resin to carve a perfect border of the driveway. We then used the same resin and blocks for the wraparound patio, to create a coordinated look.

Step 1:

After planning and designing the layout with our client our first step was to excavate the original driveway 8 inches down from our finish level, lay a geo textile membrane, and bring in 6 inches of clean type 3 stone. This is the porous sub-base, allowing for a puddle-free driveway and patio.

Step 2:

Brick pavers are installed around the perimeter, and bullnose key kerbs are used to create new step. These are primed and then set in concrete for improved longevity and stability.

Step 3:

Structural reinforcement mesh is then laid, and then 30mm of VubaMac is installed. This base is incredibly porous and greatly increases the clients warranty.

Step 4:

Another layer of SRM is installed, followed by beading to create the unique border and geometric pattern design.

Step 5:

Then 18mm of UV stable BBA approved resin is then trowelled on top in ‘New Pallazo’ colour for the main area with ‘The Met’ as the border. A power trowel is used to give a consistent finish.

Results:

This is a standout example of how a resin driveway can boost curb appeal while providing a smooth, slip-resistant surface that will stand the test of time. The modern design adds a bespoke touch to the property, showing attention to detail and elevating the overall look to be both functional to stylish. The neat lines and expertly laid edging blocks further enhance the finish, giving the entrance and wraparound patio a premium, well-crafted feel.
