What is VubaMac?

VubaMac is a highly durable and environmentally friendly base specifically designed for resin-bound surfacing. As a result, VubaMac is transforming traditional paving methods as it is the most flood-resistant paving solution in the world. Using 100% recycled aggregates and renewable binders, VubaMac is environmentally friendly and eliminates emissions that other materials such as concrete and asphalt produce. Without the need for digging, this base preserves the earth whilst acting as a natural drainage system.

Complete VubaMac System:

Urethane Binder Course

A monolithically bonded polyurethane system made of specially selected, high-strength aggregate. The use of NON-UV Polyurethane resin provides increased durability to the binder course.

SRM Layers

The 1mm of SRM is a Structural Reinforcement Mesh that makes up 2 layers of the VubaMac Urethane Binder Course. Adding a high strength resistance and support structure to the base. It is made from recyclable plastic.

Resin Bound

The final layer of Stone Resin is installed on top of the permeable and durable VubaMac Base.

Benefits of using VubaMac Base

Permeability

  • A VubaMac system is 19 times more permeable than block paving, evidenced in a drainage investigation that showed VubaMac to have 0 litres of water runoff. Being SUDs compliant, a VubaMac base improves the environment, is fully permeable and requires no planning permission.

No Dig

  • Installing a VubaMac base removes the need for a heat-applied, excavated base which results in the total depth being less than 56mm for both base and resin-bound systems.

Ease of Application and Less Disruption

  • Having just one supplier throughout the installation process ensures complete project control, resulting in a more uniform finish. Moreover, a VubaMac Base can be completed in just one day, resulting in less disruption and overall wait time.

Durability

  • VubaMac’s crush test results were even higher than Asphalt! In a compression test we saw that Asphalt crushed at 42kN whereas VubaMac could not be crushed at all! This supports the conclusion that the Flexure Strength of VubaMac is 57% stronger than Asphalt. This makes VubaMac resilient to heavy traffic and multiple vehicle parking.

Recycled Base

  • VubaMac is 100% repurposed waste aggregate. The product is screened to remove any debris and leave an extremely high-quality material that saves on wastage.

Vubamac Bases vs other conventional materials

  • A monolithic bond guarantees a long-lasting and reliable performance which gives reason why VubaMac surpasses other materials such as concrete and asphalt in its durability. As well as its convenient installation process which can see VubaMac Base completed in just one day, there is minimal disruption and upheaval when opting for a VubaMac base. Subsequently, the minimized excavation requires less machinery and offers a more sustainable choice for landscaping surfaces than other alternative materials.
  • Moreover, the permeability of VubaMac base in comparison to other materials provides a much more sustainable and long-lasting surface. In fact, according to the association of SuDs Authorities ‘VubaMac is the only fully SuDs compliant paving system from earth to top system’.
  • VubaMac is a more sustainable and environmentally friendly choice of surfacing in comparison to concrete and asphalt. In fact, the direct CO2 emissions of asphalt are around 25kg per tonne and Concrete causes 9% of the global CO2 emissions.

Summary:

So why should you opt for a VubaMac base for your stone resin driveway? Since VubaMac base has better permeability, durability, and application process than alternative solutions, it comes with a much higher guarantee. Ultimately a higher quality and more sustainable base will lead to an overall longer-lasting surface.
